Established in
1994, Botsford Briar is located in Beacon, New York. Set high on a hill in Beacon’s Historical District,
it is a quiet, relaxing spot with remarkable views of the Hudson River. It is conveniently located within
ten minutes walking distance of Main Street, Metro-North, and Dia.
Botsford Briar is a beautifully restored high Queen Anne Victorian designed by Arnout
Cannon, the architect responsible for the 1888 redesign of Wilderstein Historic Site in Rhinebeck, NY. Built around
1889, it features a turret that reaches up through the three stories. The deck, with breathtaking views of the Hudson River, was designed and built in 2008 by
Innkeeper Charles Fincham.
High ceilings, rich woodworking, and ornamental fireplaces add to Botsford Briar's Victorian charm.
Botsford
Briar was featured in Hudson Valley Magazine (10/97) and Condé Nast Traveler (5/08). It was also used as a set location for the film Nobody's Fool, starring Paul Newman, Jessica Tandy, Bruce Willis, and Melanie Griffin.
The guest rooms are decorated with antiques
in a simple Victorian style, each with its own private bath.
